Headers and Scripts

So, you may of heard about Headers or Scripts every now and then across the game. This is a pretty simple breakdown of how they work.

When you do something in Mobsters, whether it's doing a mission, punching someone, purchasing property or equipment, banking cash, ANYTHING, it is executing a link. In the old days, we could just right click and 'copy link location', but the architecture of this game doesn't allow that. So what to do? Install a Header Grabber!

I personally use one called 'FireBug'. It's a Firefox plugin, and it will 'grab' the script that is being executed, allowing you to copy and paste it in your address bar for quick access to whatever it is you are doing.

While there are many uses, I seem to only find good use of headers when I'm presented with any situation that requires me to click the same button over and over again. Such as healing, missions, attacking/punching, and spending skill points.

Let's kill the confusion and jump into what I'm talking about here.

Step 1.) Install Firebug For Firefox

Step 2.) Follow the steps in the following video for instructions on how to install Firebug, and how to use it to grab your headers:

That's about it as far as how to use Firebug, now let's break this header down to something you can actually understand.

Here is an example Mission header:

http://mob-dynamic-lb4.mobsters05.com/mob/do_job?user_id=1234567890&job_id=200002&session_id=aed3ba7a4c90858273793d4cd103b36b031791a1&auth_key=dd317f05163dh8f31edf078e8d70dafd3671b750&nocache=1286387807638

In this example, the header tells the mobsters a few different things: What it needs to do (do_job) , who is doing it (user_id), what job to do (job_id) and it needs the authorization code (auth_key).

The auth_key is myspace's way of telling Mobsters, that the user_id is the one that is authorized to do it, this prevents you from typing in anybody's user id into the header and start doing missions for them.

In all headers, the session_id and the nocache are not used at all.

Here is an example Punch header:

http://mob-dynamic-lb4.mobsters05.com/mob/attack?user_id=1234567890&target_id=0987654321&punch_in_face=true&session_id=50a694705478ec7579d0e765675b2ef1a6536c50&auth_key=c182dce647h52d27f938aedbf5dc68c4c4c167a0&nocache=1286388095255

In this example, the header tells the mobsters a few different things: What it needs to do (attack) , who is doing it (user_id), who to attack (target_id), what type of attack (punch_in_face) and it needs the authorization code again (auth_key).

Here is an example of purchasing property:

http://mob-dynamic-lb4.mobsters05.com/mob/buy_land?user_id=123456789&land_id=01&amount=10&session_id=aed3ba7a4c90858273793d4cd103b36b031791a1&auth_key=c182dce647d52d27f938aedbf5dc68c4c4c167a0&nocache=1286388722808

In this example, the header tells the mobsters: What it needs to do (buy_land) , who is doing it (user_id), which property to purchase (land_id), how many of these you are buying (amount) and it needs the authorization code again (auth_key).

Again, remember that the session_id and the nocache are NOT important, you can actually remove them from the code completely before executing it if you want.

One thing to keep in mind, YOUR AUTH_KEY WILL EXPIRE EVERY 24 HOURS SO DON'T BOOKMARK THESE FOR LONG TERM USE.

Now, the video shows you how to install an auto clicker to automatically refresh the browser for you, automating these scripts. That is one method of doing it. Another method would be to install an 'auto refresh' plugin like ReloadEvery, but the easiest method, is just go to SUMOB.COM and click on the header repeater link and follow their instructions.

Free automated mobster tools

The virgins have managed to decipher the script to mobsters and they want to make money for doing it. They set up websites that will charge you for certain things, but they will lure you in with free tools. We don't need to spend money with these guys so let's take advantage of their free tools.

Property Purchaser:

Check out this free automatic property buyer. It's by far the best, and fastest one out there. Just drag this link to your bookmarks bar, sign into mobsters, click the bookmark, and you're on the property buyer!

Property Calculator

  1. Click and drag that link into your bookmarks bar.
  2. Log into Myspace and go to Mobsters.
  3. Click the button you just added to your bookmarks bar.
  4. Watch the video below for a tutorial on how to use the property buyer.

Return Energy

Thanks to SuMob, we can run this script to return energy to our friends. If you have a good size mob, sending out one spam broadcast is enough for you to qualify for their auto buyer.

Energy Master
  1. Click and drag that link into your bookmarks bar.
  2. Log into Myspace and go to Mobsters.
  3. Click the button you just added to your bookmarks bar.
  4. Watch the video below for a tutorial on how to use the energy master.

Mass Friend Adder:

There are a bunch of these out here, but MyMobster seems to have the easiest method.

Check it out at: http://www.mymobster.org/massadds.php
It DOES work, and works quite well. No need for me to post a video, they have a very nice one right under the adder. You can trust them with your name and password, I've used all my names on it, as hundreds of other people. If you don't trust them, just change your password right before running the script, and change it back when you are finished.

A Unique Perspective at Mission Mastery Rewards

Instead of fumbling around all the confusing mastery reward pages out there, I have decided to make it quite simple for you to figure out which missions you should do first, depending on what it is that you want.

How to do Beta Missions

Below you will find a walk-through of each of the BETA missions, however, if you really want to just knock it out of the park, you can use Galplay's header method, and with a click of a button, it will tell MOBSTERS that you have started the mission, and you have finished the mission with the best possible score, yielding the highest experience, and rewards. You can find that very useful tool here.

Making Twin Mobsters

Twin mobsters serve one essential purpose: get to whatever level you want, as quickly and efficiently as possible. Once you get your mobsters to their desired levels, they can serve you many purposes, therefore twin mobsters are one of the most important, and secretive 'easter eggs' found in mobsters.

To set up twin mobsters, you must have a bank, click here for help setting up your first bank. You must also know How to do a Transfer, and How Health Points Work.

So, how exactly do twins work? If you take 2 mobsters, same level, no mob, no attack, no defense, 1 baseball bat, and enough cash to support their healing habits, and attack each other, you will win by just 1 point. As you already read in my How Health Points Work post, a dead even fight will yield the most possible experience. So we are going to exploit these facts and use them to our advantage. Whether it's a glitch in the game, or we are taking advantage of the many formulas the GF uses to calculate different aspects of the game, it works, and I have been making twins since finding this exploit a few months into the game.

So, if you are still reading this, I am to assume you already know the information in the links mentioned above, and we can continue. Setting up your twin mobsters will seem a bit confusing at first, but it will become a 2nd nature to you before long, so let's jump to it.

  1. Create two e-mails, myspace's, and mobsters accounts.
  2. Transfer some money to these accounts.
  3. Increase your income, put the rest in the bank.
  4. Purchase 1 baseball bat on each account.
  5. Adjust your health.
  6. Start attacking each other until you reach the level you need.
Simple enough, right? I trust you can take it from here, have fun and happy mobbing!

C'mon you don't think I'd leave you hanging like that did you? Let's start explaining those steps mentioned above to help minimize the trial and error.

Step 1. Create two e-mails, myspace's, and mobsters accounts.
If you don't know how to do this, wtf are you doing here?

Step 2. Transfer some money to these accounts.
The amount of money to transfer depends on how far you want to push these two mobsters, what kind of health you are wanting to get, and how fast you want to get to your desired level. Here's some examples and perhaps you can base your decision off of them:

Please note that the above figures are nothing more than estimates, and the higher you go in level, the more inaccurate these estimates may be.

Step 3. Increase you income, put the rest of the money in the bank.
Refer to the chart above as to what income you may need. Please note that after you get to your desired level, you can start adding mobsters, thus EMS, and the cost of healing will drop to about $20/mil an hour for a level 400+, but unfortunately, you can't get dead even fights when you own any EMS, so we have to do without them until we reach our desired level. If you would like to try this without income, you will need about $7 billion in bank funds to get you to level 400, and another $1 billion per every 2 levels thereafter.

Step 4. Purchase 1 baseball bat on each account.
I used to be able to fight with my bare hands, but now more often than not, it will only give me a very small amount of damage and exp, therefore I had to buy weapons that have 1 attack and 1 defense, that made it back to normal. However, if you notice you aren't getting a dead even fight (you will win 66% to 33%) then you need to sell the bats and use the bare hands.

Step 5. Adjust your health.
Health controls how fast you level, and how much it will cost you an hour to level, but it will never change the amount of money it takes to get from one level to the next. If you want to get there quickly and have the income to do it, load up at least 1/3 of your skill points into health. Most of the twin mobsters I make are going straight to level 500, and I dump all my exp into health until I reach 6500 around level 215 (that leaves me with 855 skill points to spend when I reach level 500). If your health, damage, and healing range is greater than what your income can support, you will find yourself playing the waiting game all too often.

Step 6. Start attacking until you reach the level you need.
Log on twin 1, go to twin 2's wall and hit attack. Keep twin 1 open in one tab and log on to twin 2. Go to twin 2's rival list and attack twin 1. Go back to twin 1's tab, go to the rival list, and attack back. Heal up, repeat. Congrats, you now have twins.
There are much easier ways to do this with bots, however I'm not going to mention any of them unless they want to start an affiliate program with me.

Why your Health is Important.

Note:  In this article I mention Health Points.  Do not confuse this with your current health.   Health Points are the amount of skill points that has been added to health.  Health is how many of your health points you currently have.

Many people don't realize the importance of their health points.   Your health points play a few different roles in the game, such as:
  1. How many hospital punches you can take before you die.
  2. How much damage you can do in a fight.
  3. How much experience you can get out of a fight.
  4. How quickly you can heal.

1. How many hospital punches you can take before you die.

We'll start with the common sense one first and get it out of the way.

You enter the hospital at 20% health (if you are not on the hitlist).

After you are in the hospital, you cannot be attacked, only punched by a level 25+ (required level to get police badges).  On average, you can assume about 8 damage per punch, but don't be fooled, there are many people out there (with a lot of brass knuckles) doing 30+ damage.

By looking at the chart on the left, you can see how ABOUT how many punches you can take before dying.

The column on the left is your health points, not your current health.

The column on the right is about how many punches you can take after going in the hospital.

For instance, if you have 100 health points, you enter the hospital at 20 health, which is about 3 punches before you are dead.

2.  How much damage you can do in a fight.

Your health plays a role in how much damage you can do in a fight.  When you attack another mobster, or when another mobster attacks you, a predetermined amount of damage is distributed between the two of you.  Whoever does the most damage obviously wins.  If it is a dead even tie, Mobsters will throw in 1 more damage and give it to the attacker.

This predetermined amount of damage to be distributed is based on health points.  During an attack, Mobsters will base it's calculation off of the mobster who has the lowest health points.

For example, If you have 600 health points, and the person you're attacking/attacking you has 500 health points, the calculations will be based off of 500 health points.   If the other mobster had 1000 health points, the calculations would be based off your 600.

We will call this number the LHP for Lowest Health Point.   30% of the LHP is the amount of damage that will be distributed throughout the fight.  We'll call that DD for Distributed Damage  A drastic win  (or drastic loss, for that matter) would be the entire amount of the DD.

For example.   If the LHP in a fight is 1000, the DD is 300 and the maximum amount of damage that can be caused is also 300.  A dead even fight would be 151 to 150.

3.  How much experience you can get out of a fight.

Terms Used:
LHP - Lowest Health Point - The lowest amount of health points between the attacker and defender.  This number is used to determine how much damage and experience is distributed.

DD - Distributed Damage - The amount of damage that can be caused in a fight.

The amount of experience you can get out of a fight is based on the Lowest Health Point (LHP) and the Distributed Damage (DD).

Experience is not distributed, only the winner of the fight will be entitled to experience.  A dead even fight will yield the highest amount of energy to the winner, and a drastic win will only give a few, if any, experience to the winner.

The maximum amount of energy, coming from a dead even fight, is 1/20th, or 5% of the LHP.

For example, if the LHP is 1000, the maximum amount (coming from a 151/150 win) would be 50 experience.

If any lights are starting to kick on upstairs, I will confirm for you:  2 mobsters, with very high health, doing dead even fights, could get a whole bunch of experience in a little bit of time.

And you are correct, we will touch on that article later when I explain how to Make a Set of Twins.

4.  How quickly you can heal.

High health doesn't benefit everybody.  Riders, for instance, need lower health to keep them from taking damage faster than they can heal.  Of course this is at the cost of lower experience per fight, but that makes up for itself because they can ride the list for hours.

The 750 and EMS rule has thrown a huge wrench in the benefits of high health for those who need to heal quickly and often.  The 750 rule is: no matter how fast you heal, the hospital will stop and 'process your payment' for 15 seconds, every 750 health.  The alternate is to get EMS, this will give you full health, but you must also wait 15 seconds before healing again.

How to do a Transfer

A transfer is the transferring of money between one character to another, by setting a bounty on a third character. A bank hitlists a dummy, and the new name (the recipient) catches the bounty, thus giving him or her the bank's money. Transfers are fairly simple, under the right conditions.

To do a transfer you will need 3 mobsters:
  1. A bank - Will be placing the bounty on the dummy.
  2. A dummy - Will be getting attacked by the recipient.
  3. A recipient - Will attack the dummy and claim the banks bounty.
The bank cannot be more than twice the dummy's level, and the recipient cannot be more than 1 level higher than the dummy.

Now that all your ducks are in a row, let's begin the transfer process. At the cost of your initial confusion, please follow each of the steps EXACTLY to avoid getting lost or having to log in two times.

You will need 3 tabs open for each account, but don't jump the gun, we will get there:
ANYTHING IN YELLOW TEXT IS TO BE DONE ON TAB 1 - YOUR BANK
ANYTHING IN BLUE TEXT IS TO BE DONE ON TAB 2 - YOUR DUMMY
ANYTHING IN GREEN TEXT IS TO BE DONE ON TAB 3 - YOUR RECIPIENT

  1. Close all your Mobsters tabs out and log out of myspace
  2. Sign in under your bank name and load Mobsters
  3. Go to your dummy's page and press 'Add to hitlist' but don't set a bounty yet
  4. Open a new tab, go to myspace, and sign out
  5. Sign in under your dummy's name and load Mobsters
  6. Open a new tab, go to myspace, and sign out
  7. Sign in under the recipients name and load Mobsters
  8. Go to your dummy's page and press 'Attack' one time
  9. How much damage did you do? Remember that number
  10. Go back to your dummy's tab and attack someone (much higher of a level than you) on the hitlist until your health is less than the number I just told you to remember in the previous step
  11. Go back to your bank's tab, and set a bounty on them
  12. Quickly go to the recipient's tab and start clicking 'Attack' as many times as possible
TaDaa! Now, repeat steps 10-12 to keep doing it! Step 10 can be replaced by punches if you have the stamina. Don't forget you can punch yourself, my dummy names have no need for attack, defense, energy, nor health so I dumped all my points into stamina, giving me at least a few shots at myself if need be.

Tips
  • Keep a close eye on your stamina, you'll know why I'm saying that the first time you take your eye off it and have to go through 2 minutes of freaking out like the Angry German Kid.
  • I always do a bot test as my first bounty. I set it rather low, and wait about 10 seconds after placing the bounty to see if anyone caught it. This lets me know whether I can do one large transfer, or many small ones.
  • Still can't beat the bots? YES YOU CAN! When you can't beat 'em, take advantage of 'em. Most bounty hunters have less than 20 stamina, and will use 2 or 3 per bounty. When they keep beating me to the punch, I set consecutive 'minimum bounties' on the dummy and force them to run out of stamina.

How to set up a Bank

A bank is a very low level account that is only used for money. Banks are crucial to every advance player, especially this late in the game. Banks make enough money to suit the users needs, and is used to fund other characters via Transfers. An ideal bank would be a level 5, making at least $100,000,000 per hour.

Obtaining your first bank is a tough process, and you are stuck with 4 choices:
  1. Start a new name and slowly save your money, increasing your income over time
  2. Have a friend who already has a bank that wouldn't mind transferring funds to help you start your bank.
  3. Start a new account, and use transfer service (pay someone to transfer funds to you).
  4. Purchase a pre-made account from a mobsters account sales website.
The first choice is the most obvious, it's the traditional way, it's how Mobsters wants you to make your money, and it's a painstaking journey that could take months to get you where you need to be. I don't recommend this choice to anyone, but I understand that some people have no other options.

The second choice is the most common. Almost everyone has a lower making good money, just ask around, you would only need a few billion to get started. After you find the right person, get them to list your dummy a few times and you will be on your way.

If you have just started playing, and have no friends nor mob members to help you, and still don't feel like playing the waiting game, then another choice is to have a mobsters service transfer funds to you. I will suggest none, but they are pretty easy to find, just look at the spam their bots will leave on profiles. These services typically charge $0.50-$0.75 per billion, and you will need anywhere from $40-$100 billion to get your bank started with a decent income.

The final option is the lazy way, it's very similar to the previous option, but additionally, it takes out all the trouble of having to add mobsters, set up your account, purchase territories, etc. Pre-made level 5 banks usually sell for $80-$125 depending on their income.

Now that you know how to get a bank, let's talk about the best setup, and the role they will play in your Mobsters gaming experience.

The primary use of a bank is to be just that, a bank, a low level name with lots of cash that you can transfer to other names. The importance of the bank is everything, you will need it for virtually every type of mobster you create, whether you are making a hitlist rider, or you are using 5 different banks to accelerate the income of another mobster, cash is the key! Hospital funds, equipment, and upkeep can tally up on any player that signs on constantly, a few simple transfers and they will have enough cash to increase their income, and begin supporting themselves.

I suggest that a bank be no higher than a level 5, in fact, I suicide my bank any time she gets close to level 6. The reason it's best to stay at level 5 is because level 5 is the lowest level that anyone can be hitlisted, because of this, the hitlist is overwhelmed at that level, meaning you will have up to a few minutes (versus a fraction of a second on level 10+) to catch the bounty and getting your transfer. Therefore it is best that the bank, the dummy, and the mobster catching the transfer are all level 5's.

How much to transfer depends on how often you are going to use your bank. Consistent players make a few new names each month, and will need to transfer about $40 billion to each name (giving that name around $18 million per hour). A bank making $100 million per hour will bring in $80 Billion a month, I trust you can use those figures as a reference point to figure out how much you need.

Regarding stats, I suggest putting everything into stamina,  it's the only thing that can be of use to such a useless name.   This way you can punch, and hit-list many more times before having to wait 2:00 per hit.

Welcome to my blog.

Thank you for visiting the blog.  My goal is to expose all the secrets in MySpace Mobsters, FOR FREE.  I must keep my name a secret for fear of being banned from the game, and fear of retaliation from my fellow made men, and from all the sites that charge you for having the knowledge I'm about to share with you.   While some things I suggest may actually cost you money for an easier route, I will always show you a free alternate around the ordeal.

I have been an All Time Made Man since the beginning, and I HAVE NEVER ONCE PAID A SINGLE DIME FOR MOBSTERS AND NEITHER SHOULD YOU!

My Goal
This is a work in progress, and I have already mapped out my game plan in the Table of Contents.  If the link isn't active, it's because the blog hasn't been written yet.  Please subscribe, as I will be adding 2 or 3 posts a week until the project is complete.

Also keep in mind that I have and will spend countless hours on this blog, and I am not asking for any of your money in return.  If you are feeling courteous, you will notice I have added ways for your to show your appreciation below and to the side of the postings.

Who is The Masked Mobster?
For prevention of clone accounts, and those claiming to be me, let me make it very clear right now, nobody, not my closest mobsters, nor my closest friends who play mobsters, knows that I am the Masked Mobster.  Nobody will ever know who I am, and I will never come out and say "I'm The Masked Mobster", so if someone is claiming they are, they are lying.   IF I ever exposed myself, it would be here on this blog, no where else.

I hope I am able to answer all your questions, and I try my best to explain the game to you as easily as possible.  If you feel confused, see errors, have questions, compliments, or feel that material is missing, please send me a message.
